Mother Teresa Biography

Mother Teresa (1910 – 1997), born Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu, was a Catholic nun of Albanian ethnicity and Indian citizenship, who founded the Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta, India in 1950.

For over 45 years she ministered to the poor, sick, orphaned, and dying, while guiding the Missionaries of Charity's expansion, first throughout India and then in other countries.

‘Socio-economic empowerment of rural women and deprived families by Green House Project’ -

In late autumn of 2016 Mother Teresa Society entered a contract with Swiss Cooperation Office-based in Kosovo.The country’s rural areas are home to 40 per cent of the population and two thirds of its poor people. Most rural households depend largely on crop and livestock production for their income. Poor people in rural areas are either members of traditional small-scale agricultural households making out a livelihood at subsistence level, or they are among the poor rural unemployed, who may be even more disadvantaged than poor landholders. This projects aims to alleviate rural poverty by supporting the development of small businesses for poor families, women and minority group members. This way they will acquire skills and means that will enable them to financially support themselves, their families and their surroundings, and result in sustainable economic, social and environmental development.

The overall objectiveof the propose project is Contributing to promotion of family small scales entrepreneurships in the rural area as a mean of families and women empowerment over economic growth in the region.

The project will be focused on the promotion of 25 familiesKosovo wide small scales entrepreneurships in the targeted municipalities on as a mean of socially deprived families and women empowerment in economic growth Through the stimulation of greenhouse project in the selected areas we think it can be one of the potentials for reducing the poverty rate in rural area and as such increasing the economic sustainable development. Within twelve months it is expected that vulnerable families to be self-employed and able to alleviate themselves out of poverty. 25 families to be able to run small scale project

25 families/women majority and minorities to gained skills and capitals to generate enough income for living. More info and photos on project development will be shared as project progresses.
